Carrying as a therapy
Cry babies
Babies who start crying without any body contact become noticeably quieter and are more relaxed and/or happier during non-carried periods. Note: In cases where also a constantly crying baby cannot be comforted by carrying, there are special so-called crying units and/or special consultation hours with qualified personnel. Find more information at www.trostreich.de.
Colicky babies
When the little tummy suffers from painful spasms due to foodstuffs causing flatulence, stress during breastfeeding or swallowing air during drinking, the body contact when being carried has soothing effects and the stomach is well massaged. This provides relief!
Premature babies
Snatched too early from the comfort of the womb, carrying gives back a part of this in a natural way. Happiness and loving closeness nurture bonding and basic trust.
Hip dysplasia
For a perfect maturing of the hip joints, it is necessary that the femoral heads stay centred in the hip socket. When carried, the child automatically adopts the correct position (spread-squat position) for this purpose. The same applies to the stimulation of the blood circulation in this position which enhances the development.
Cleft palate
Every year, nearly 1,600 children are born with a cleft palate. With the baby sling, you protect your child from prying eyes.
Neurodermitis
Stress can aggravate an existing neurodermitis. In the sling, the baby is close to your body and they feel secure and relaxed. This is good for the soul and it also helps the skin.
Central coordination disorder/ underdevelopment
The child in the sling gets a wealth of promotional stimuli: They are moved, cuddled, rocked, hear voices and noise, smell the meal, and notice the wind on their face. The brain receives a wealth of information without overexerting the child because it is carried safely and securely.
Note: Carrying does not replace a necessary medical treatment.
